Grounded in Gratitude 2025 Stewardship Campaign

A message from Pastor Becca Messman about our 2025 stewardship campaign: This year, our campaign theme is “Grounded in Gratitude.” When thinking about our church, our stewardship team could imagine the firm grounding of a tree in the earth, roots that have grown deep and wide, and copious branches and leaves of a church that is alive. We could envision a trunk that is strong but also flexible, reaching to heaven and yet firmly planted in this particular community. But…

ECHO Food Drive

September is the month BPC makes a special effort to collect food for ECHO.  During the height of the pandemic, the need for basic groceries increased dramatically, and donors stepped up. Followed by supply chain disruptions, soaring food costs due to inflation, and now the end of pandemic related subsidies, the need in our community seems to be growing. ECHO distributes approximately 11,000 pounds of food each month, but recently food donations have not met the increasing requests. We hope…

“The Art of Being Together” – Sermon Series

Our September sermon series is “The Art of Being Together: How Jesus mends and strengthens broken relationships.” We live in a time when people are afraid, relationships are frayed, and our instincts draw us into our bunkers. We might make snap judgments and see others through the lens of suspicion rather than grace. This happens in our politics but even more in our interactions with family and friends. We are left feeling lonely and invisible.  In the month of September,…

Help Restock ECHO’s Food Room in September

September is the month BPC makes a special effort to collect food for ECHO. A summer with few food drives and low food donations has left ECHO’s Food Pantry with urgent needs. We hope that our generous community will help us.  Requests for food assistance are higher than pre-Covid levels. ECHO sees clients by appointment so as not to overwhelm our capacity, and every food assistance appointment is filled nearly every day. Other organizations are seeing the same level of…
